We should all be ATTENTION SEEKERS
Forget about social media for a second. Forget about videos, tweets, status updates, competitions, likes and shares, graphics, blogs, podcasts, and the rest.
Yes, forget about those, because they aren’t what you need.
They are a means to get what you need but they are merely tools. Tools that if used correctly can make you feel like a ‘leader in your field’, or help you amass a million followers.
The truth is, what you need is attention. I’ll say that again…
“what you need is attention”
You need nothing more than the attention of your customers and your potential customers.
So the next time you’re posting on your social pages, recording a podcast, designing a graphic, shooting a video, giving a ‘live’ (“I just jumped on….”), stop and think.
Will this gain the attention of my audience?
That’s a stark question because quite often the answer is “no”. When you answer that question I want you to take a step back again and rethink what you’re about to do.
Then I want you to do it one more time, adjust, look at it from their perspective. Is this what you’d want to see?
Would this gain your attention?
